Privacy Policy

Effective 2 August 2026 · applies to examchowk.com and the installable ExamChowk app.

The short version: no account, no name, no phone number, no email is ever asked for. Your eligibility profile lives in your own browser. The only personal-ish data we ever hold on a server is a push subscription — and only if you turn notifications on.

1. Your eligibility profile stays on your device

The details you enter for the AI eligibility match — qualification, date of birth, category, gender, state, course and certificates — are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. Browsing the site never uploads them. Clearing your browser data deletes them completely.

2. Push notifications (optional)

If you tap 🔔 and allow notifications, we store on our server (Cloudflare KV, our hosting provider's storage):

the anonymous push endpoint your browser generates (a long URL + cryptographic keys — it contains no identity),
your notification preference (all updates / eligible-only / daily digest),
and — only if you choose "eligible-only" alerts — a copy of your eligibility profile (the fields above; still no name, phone or email), because the filtering happens on the server.

Turning notifications off (🔕 in the app, or revoking permission in your browser) deletes the subscription and the profile copy with it.

3. What we count, anonymously

Aggregate counters — total visits, devices and taps on features (via the Abacus counter service). These are plain number tallies: no cookies, no user IDs, no individual tracking.
Cloudflare analytics — our host records aggregate traffic (country, device type, pages). Standard server logs include IP addresses, kept per Cloudflare's own retention.

We run no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, and no cross-site trackers, and we set no advertising cookies ourselves.

4. Third-party services this site touches

Cloudflare — hosts the site and API worldwide. Their policy.
Google Fonts — the app's fonts load from Google's servers, which see your IP as with any file download. Google's policy.
Official government websites — every listing links out to them; once you leave, their policies apply.

5. Ads and affiliate links (future)

ExamChowk currently shows no ads. If we introduce them, they will sit in fixed, clearly-labelled spots and never cover content. Ad partners such as Google AdSense may then use cookies to show relevant ads; this policy will be updated first, and any affiliate/course link will carry a visible label. You will never see fake download buttons here.

6. Local storage we use

Besides the profile: your saved-jobs list, theme choice, and small flags (e.g. "install banner dismissed"). All on-device, all removed by clearing site data.

7. Children

The site publishes public exam information suitable for all ages and knowingly collects no data from anyone, child or adult, beyond what is described above.

8. Your choices & contact

Delete on-device data: clear this site's browsing data.
Delete the server-side subscription: turn notifications off, or write to us.
